Description

If I ever level Rory up more... Here are the characters that MIGHT appear when she's at level 16. 8D;

On the right is Melanie Kingston and on the left is Friday Everson. |D

Name: Melanie Hazel Kingston
Age: 12 (13 on February 14th)
Height: 4'11"
Weight: 108 lbs (skinny bugger)
Race: Demigod
Sex: Female
God-parent: Morpheus, God of Dreams
Mortal Parent(s): Joanne Kingston (Mother), Oliver Kingston (Step-Father); Both are rich tycoons who are pretty well off and a bit high-class...and pretty much married each other for financial investments among other things.
Powers:
:bulletblack:Day-Dreamer: - She can cause people to go into a day-dream like state.
~Level 1: She can only do this for at a maximum of 5 minutes. Any longer, she'll pass out. The same can be said if she has to make more than two people (or the equivalence of two people like a very "large" person) day dream.

:bulletblue: Heavy Sleeper:

Weapon:
-Mist form: Necklace charm
-Non-Mist form: Pillow-discus
Personality: Pretty loud and out-going, she's not afraid to speak what's on her mind (except if she's scared. Like she's going to reveal that). Feels a bit out of place because the only ones near her age are older than her by at least a year.... Felt very excited knowing she had two older brothers (at least for now).
Deadly Flaw: EGO. Gets into things that are WAY over her head just to prove she can do it. This stemmed from years of trying to get her parents' attention, and now it's gotten worse once she arrived at camp. Mainly because of all the kids being older than her (besides Middy).

Background:
Before her parents had gotten married, Joanne was feeling the case of cold-feet, so she went to a bar with a group of friends that were her bridesmaids. All of them had gotten drunk and were being picked up on by a couple of guys. Well, one of them by pure chance happened to be Morpheus in disguise and he managed to get with the Bride herself. Joanne hardly remembers that night and it didn't help with the wedding the next day and honeymoon thereafter putting the days of conception very close together.

Months later and the arrival of Melanie did seem promising. For Oliver. At first he thought Melanie would come out a boy to inherit their estate, but a girl's pretty good too. Someone's gotta marry her, and usually the father's bride doesn't pay much for the wedding, right? But as the young girl grew older, her sleeping habits were off. There'd be days were she would sleep for more than the recommended time, such as 1 or almost 2 days. Then the next, she'd go one for sleeping only 2 hours between every 3 days. If that weren't enough, Melanie claimed to be seeing random things in her dreams, even when she wasn't actually asleep. Joanne's long forgotten union with Morpheus slowly rose with guilt in the mother's mind, but she said nothing. For fear of a divorce, and not being able to provide for their young girl. So Melanie's mom made up some quick excuse, blaming everything on TV and such, which Oliver agreed with. Irritated that her parents didn't believe her, Melanie decided to go on about her own business an figure things out for herself.

It wasn't until after she graduated from Elementary school and onto Middle school did she do even more digging. Something led her to Greek Mythology whether it was a hunch...or the fact she could read the symbols better than normal writing at times when her classmates couldn't. Whatever the case, Melanie thought the idea of herself being a demigod was awesome and debated on proclaiming it....

Scenario 2 for Melanie:
-Daughter of Tyche
:bulletgreen: Bad Chances - Can persuade someone else to create a bad decision or wrong move, making them unlucky in anything they wish to succeed in. (WIP)
:bulletred: Call my Bluff - Melanie can create different poker faces, being able to throw someone's guess of her intentions. If they are able to call past it before the time's up, they're rewarded with good luck. If not, bad luck will follow them for the rest of the day.
:bulletgreen:

Name: Friday Turner
Age: 18
Birthday: April 3rd
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 162 lbs
Race: Demigod
Sex: Male
God-parent: Iris, Goddess of Rainbows and Messenger of the Gods
Mortal Parent(s): Alan Turner (father, deceased)- He was a pilot who died during an attempt to divert monsters away from his son.
Hometown: Sydney, Australia (Currently, New York City, NY)

Powers:
:bulletwhite:See the Rainbow: - Friday will be able to create rainbows, be it day or night, wherever and whenever.
~Level 1: As of now, he can bend light rays from a given light source into making a small rainbow, but since this is the lowest level, it's very faint and hard to notice.
~Level 2: He can make rainbows now whenever sunlight is present, having their density more noticeable to see. Cloudy or Rainy days disperses them, and he can't make them at night.
~Level 3: The rainbows are now stronger during the day time, and he is currently learning to use the moon's light to make them appear as well.
~Level 4:
~Level 5: Can now create rainbows wherever and whenever, making them last for a good while. If no visible light source is present he can still make them, but it drains his energy more.

:bulletwhite:Wind-Glider- This gives him the chance to ride like the wind does for awhile, boosting his speed.
-Level 5: Can only do so for a length of 1 feet.
-Level 6:
-Level 7:
-Level 8:
-Level 9:
-Level 10:

:bulletwhite:Traveling Through Colors- Essentially like it's name says, with a rainbow present, he can travel through them in order to escape or get himself to another location to help. Traveling through them does wear him out if he overuses this ability more than 5 times in a 12 hour period (at his max). Normally this would be hard since Rainbows are very rare, but with the aid of his first power, this should be no trouble at all.

-Level 16
-Level 17
-Level 18
-Level 19
-Level 20

Weapon:
:bulletwhite:Mist form: Phone (or flashdrive /WIP)
:bulletwhite:Non-Mist form: Arm Sword [link]
Personality: Pretty calm and down to earth, Friday is more of a questioner than an actual believer. He's quite friendly, but only to the point where there's hints of getting too close, then he backs off. He has some problems with that, but he's a good guy to talk to, so there's some hope there.

Deadly Flaw: Too Nosy/Brown-nosing. Friday's very curious about what's going on and all that sense. He tends to stick his little nose in almost everything and just has to know what's going on. This tends to lead him into trouble or easily distracted.

Background:
Born and raised in Vermont, but had moved to South side California, Alan Turner was your run-of-the-mill pilot. Traveling to different places, venturing into the unknown, depending on where the airport sent him. He was usually involved for vacationing spots (or business for some), so he loved his job. On the side, he also liked painting, so this hobby along with his traveling job caught the attention of the Goddess of Rainbows (and Messenger of the Gods) one fateful night. Alan hardly remembers that night besides coming home from a long flight and falling into the arms of a winged "rainbow-girl".

Months later and low and behold, Alan was quite surprised to find a boy wrapped in a shimmering rainbow blanket, inside a feathery-golden basket. Since it was very early in the morning, and Alan was SO creative....He named the boy Friday. The day he arrived (and was born on the same day, go figure). Surprisingly taking the new father role in stride, Alan often let Friday travel with him to different cities, states, and continents before coming back to good ol' Cali, which the young lad often enjoyed doing. Since he was the child of a minor Goddess, Friday was often overlooked, so it was safe to say that the two lived the good life.

By the time Friday was about 10, and was with Alan during a trip to the big Down Under, Australia, things started going awry. A pair of Stymphalian birds appeared and chased them around one night. None of them had even known this was going to happen or knew what to do, but when it happened, it happened. Since they could obviously fly and he wanted to protect his son, Alan told Friday to hide somewhere while he chased them off....but he never came back nor was his body found.

Since it was a rather random occurrance and his first with an actual Greek monster, Friday had no idea what was going on at all aside from the fact that his dad was nowhere to be found. It left him pretty upset, and when the airport tried calling Alan, they had to send a replacement pilot instead. Friday refused to get on the plan without his dad, and so the airport tried contacting his family, but neither of them even knew Alan had a son. They either didn't have enough money to get the boy back home, or didn't really care, so Friday was left to the Orphanage to grow up.

During the next 8 years, Friday didn't mind the orphanage one bit, mostly in the belief his father would come back....he was just busy at the moments. But the more time he stayed, the less he kept hope alive. The foster homes weren't that bad either, but the reason it was more Foster than "Actually Adopting" was because there was always some weird run-in with a weird monster or another. Add in the fact that almost every close friend he made while in the orphanage and you have his well built personality today. It might've been his mother's doing that made him quite sociable despite all of this, so Friday wasn't always alone. When the coming of age came for him, Friday decided to get on a plane the first chance he got and moved to New York City, planning to take up photography. (He had already built up a nice portfolio for a hobby since he was a kid). It wasn't until him going into the Spring Term did he notice one day a weird glowing symbol of a rainbow appeared above his head.

What followed after that was him meeting up with a satyr after one of his classes who had tried to tell him of who he was: A demigod. Friday initially denied it but was intrigued by the boy's story. So he shrugged and let him ramble on, wanting to hear more of this Camp Halfblood. The satyr almost gave up on this, debating on just dragging Friday there himself, but Friday finally gave in, letting the Satyr lead Friday to Camp Halfblood.

Friday still believes it all to be a hoax or a really good dream he's not waking up from, but is slowly accepting it.

Other Info: (small text is "prior to camp"
:bulletwhite: During his years in the orphanage, he made friends with a girl who liked to braid everything. He kept one part of his hair long enough so she could braid it, but then she was adopted. He hadn't cut it since (it's a little on-going joke for him).
:bulletpink: Contrary to what people think of how he feels about rainbows on the outside, he gets giddy about them on the inside every time he sees one. He's just good at hiding it. |D (although stay around him for a few minutes and you'll see him break out into a weird wide grin~)
:bulletred:Secretly has wears glasses but doesn't like them (he claims they make his nose too itchy), so he likes to wear contacts most of the time.
:bulletorange: His hair is normally near a white-blonde but it acts as a prism. Any sort of stong sunshine can make his hair shimmer into different colors of the rainbow.
:bulletyellow: He's technically American, but being that none of his family members could (or even bothered to) find him, he was raised as an Aussie with a weird accent. The accent's there, but a bit faint since he's been there since he was 10.
:bulletgreen: Dreams of being a photographer after college, which is what he's studying for right now.
:bulletblue:Thinking of either plotting against Rebecca Black for the song Friday, or sue her for millions because of his name.
:bulletpurple: His middle name's Alan, after his dad.
:bulletblack: He did surf a lot during his time in Australia, so he does have some strength contrary to his own body-build. He may not look like it, but he can pick you up.

:icondealwithtrollplz: You see what I did there? |D
....

EDIT: Added the ref here because I still like it, but I updated the other with a brand spanking new one.

Yep....mostly a Work in Progess.

I didn't like her reference sheet, so I'm trying to do the poor girl some justice. XD;

And this pose looks waaaaaaaaaay better. 83

And I got my new!New tablet today, so expect it soon.

And now it's complete~ :la: [link]

Rory (c) =Paulagirl93

(Just so I can keep track of her power levels, these are also WIPs:

Blessing 1 - Poetry book
-Poem 1 - Small little cut, be not so sore. Reverse and clean up to be good like before. (Healing minor cuts)

-Poem 2 - Quite a large slash, all red and a mess. This better go away before it becomes too grotesque. (Healing major cuts/gaping wounds)

-Poem 3 - A broken bone or two? That will never do. Fractures aren't pleasant, so become one, not two. (Healing minor fractures, broken bones)

-Poem 4 - Rest thy head for the slumber to come, think of something else that's nice until I am done. (Healing major fractures, spinal injuries.)

-Poem 5 - Heals Concussions and internal bleeding, reversing the effect.

-Poem 6 - Cures common colds and slows down poisoning effects...

:bulletyellow:Poetic Phrases:With a given type of poem, Rory can make it have an effect on those who hear it, and, depending on the poem, she can release them from it if she wishes or let them continue for the duration of the effected time given, which is roughly about 15 minutes at the lowest level. As she continues to learn more poems, the radius of effect increases from the lowest level, 5 feet. The only way not to be affected by this is if one's ears are fully covered--hands don’t count.. Until she maxes, allies are advised to wear ear plugs. Note: The only poems that are not effected by this are the ones in her blessing as those poems are specific

-15: Hardy-Haikus: Haikus create confusion, but in the case that a person will get distracted by the haiku itself that they won't pay nothing else but attention to what was said within it, trying to mull it over (giving way for sneak attacks or running away). Radius of effect is 5 ft. Time limit is 15 minutes.

-16: The Name-Game: By using Name-Poems, if she has a person in mind and the poem spells out their name, it can give off a calling sense for back up or something. Radius of effect is 10 ft. Time limit is 25 minutes.

-17: Rhyme in Time: Rhymes are catchy and they can make someone else start rhyming for a good while, unless she releases them from it early. Radius of effect is 20 ftNote: The poems in The Healing Book are the only exception to this. Time limit is 40 minutes.

-18: There Once was a Man..: Limericks can cause healing or plague, emotionally. By this, if the Limerick is funny or at least very light in tone and story, then the effected person(s) will be happy and start to laugh. But if it's sad in any sort of way, then the person(s) will become sad and possibly enough to cry. Radius of effect is now 40 ft. Time limit is now 1 hour

-19: Sleepy-Sonnets: Sonnets can have the effect of making someone drowsy. Lulling them to a near sleep, when Rory maxes this poem will undoubtedly help the infected pass out. Radius of effect is 80 ft. Time limit is 2 hours.

-20: She learns no more poem effects at her max, but:
-Their radius of effect has increased to 100 ft.
-The Haikus are now just confusing instead of having to be mulled-over for non-monsters.
-She can also now direct the poem's effects, meaning she chooses who is effected, instead of having opponents AND allies affected in the vicinity. It doesn't mean that she can turn this power all the way "off", but as long she has someone in mind or is directly looking at the being she wants to "curse", then they will be affected and not her allies. If not, then everyone in the vicinity is fair game.
-The time limit as has also increased to no more than 3 hours and 30 minutes

Name: Hannah Anders
Age: 40
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 148 lbs
Race: Human
Sex: Female
Birthdate: January 8th (Capricorn)
Occupation: Neurosurgeon--aka, special Doctor.
Residence: Cleveland, Ohio
God Affliation: Apollo--God of the Sun, Music, Poetry, Truth, Light, Plague, Medicine, and the Arts
Parents: Joseph Anders (African American) and Genesse Anders (Iroquois Native American) - Two retired shop owners where Joe ran a barbershop and Genesse sold trinkets and artifacts.

Abilities:

:bulletblue:Since she's a human, she obviously has none that are supernatural or demigod-like.
:bulletblue: She's skilled with medicine and as such is very good with diagnosing symptoms and how to treat them.
:bulletblue:Very good at performing surgery, more specifically with Head Trauma and the like, but can work with other injuries.
:bulletblue:Keeps a calm head.
:bulletblue:

Personality:
Hannah is actually more calmer than her daughter, Rory, aside from being older of course, she also tends to always approach things without much enthusiasm than the occasional "whooo". She does have a silly side, however, and does love doing random things with her daughter whenever work doesn't call her in.

She's not one to get angered easily, either, but will become cross when offended right off the bat. She's protective of her family and will by no means let anyone else harm them, be it physically or emotionally. Has a tacticful mind due to being skilled in her line of work, which also means she thinks before acting.

Hardly stressed, Hannah prefers to meddle into things she's used to deal with. Only when she's in new waters will she start to (slowly) freak out, and have silent fits of rage.

Background:
Born as the youngest out of three children, Hannah grew up the quiet type. With her older sister was more outgoing and her older brother had the need to stand out, she was content with staying in the background and focus on the more important things.

Other Info:
-She works as a Neurosurgeon in the local hospital from where they live. Being on the call does make her schedule busy at times, but she does make an effort to be there for her daughter.
-Pretty much taught Rory every medical thing she knows now.
-Has a thing for Disney Movies and was watching "Sleeping Beauty" when Rory was still in her tummy. (LOL)
-Is able to see through The Mist, but when she was dating Apollo she didn't make it visibly known she knew he was clearly (to her) different than other men.
-Has been "seeing" Austin Matthews, Thyme's father, at the insistence of their respective daughters, Rory and Thyme. As of now, they're just friends but there's some budding romance there. It's just very slow to grow~

:bulletorange::bulletyellow:Power Progression!::bulletyellow::bulletorange:

:bulletyellow:Foresight:
~Level 1: They occur at random, are very fuzzy and hard to make out, so it's not like the can actually determine what's happening. There can be one where she can only focus on the scene, or at best, a person's shape, if she focuses hard enough. Sometimes if she's under stress or some strong sense of emotion, the visions can become inaccurate and distorted.
~Level 2: The visions still come at random and are fuzzy, but are more solid than before. It seems the closer she is with someone the more chance she'll have a vision with them in it. She can now hear a tiny snippet of a sound or smell with the vision, but it's very faint, almost muted. Again, like the last level, her visions can become inaccurate and distorted if she's under stress or a strong sense of emotion.
~Level 3: The visions are now more clear, but the senses of hearing or smell are only as strong if it's someone she knows very well or is close to. Otherwise, it'll be muted like before if it's a random person. If she stares too long, such as 10 to 20 minutes, she'll get dizzy with the senses and will have to blink out of it. Like the other two levels, they still occur at random and her own emotions at the time can influence their accuracy on being correct.
~Level 4: Now the senses are on the same level with the actual picture, being that she can smell or hear what's going on. The same occurs with the last level about them being affected by her mood except this time, the visions now can be triggered by touch. This means that she can have vision about the person she touched, but only for 10 to 20 minutes depending on how well she knows the person (ie: Close friends = longer vision time), before getting dizzy. She can't control them from coming, so for right now, no hugs.
~Level 5: See actual ref.

:bulletorange:Gleam & Glow:
~Level 5: Can only make her hair glow for about 2 to 5 minutes before it vanishes and needs about a 10 minute period to "recharge" as she calls it. The less time it's used, the brighter the light it is. (Brightest-to dimmest = 2 to 5 minutes).Unlike the other power where it was sporadic, this one can actually be controlled at it's lower level. However, only her hair glows and no other part of her body does.
~Level 6: The period of time has double to about 10 minutes at the most when it comes to her hair glowing, although it'll be much brighter if she keeps it up for 5 minutes. This means after 5 minutes, it'll gradually dim but still be there until the next 5 minutes have passed before it completely goes out. The "recharge" period has increased somewhat as well, for she has to rest for 12 minutes before "lighting up" again. As for what other parts glow, so far it's still her hair, although now she has gained a resistance at staring completely at the sun or some sort of bright light, but for no more than 15 minutes.
~Level 7: Now the glowing has expanded it's time on her hair from 10 to about 25 minutes, while keeping bright until the last 10 minutes of the glowing. She also can now "pull" the light from her hair and make into a small orb of light no bigger than an average orange, but this time limit is cut in half which means it'll stay in an orb for only 10 minutes. The rest period has increased to 20 minutes, even if she uses an orb and not her hair, so she has to choose either one before having to rest in between. As for the resistance to looking at the sun or it's equivalent of light, she can be able to look at it for no more than 30 minutes.
~Level 8: Can keep her hair glowing for a a full 30 minutes, though the same last 10 minutes of the glowing falters if she keeps the glowing up this way. Meaning if she just uses short bursts of glow, it's fine, but if she keeps it up to 30, then the light would start to die down after 20 minutes until completely out at 30 minutes. As for the orb of light, its duration has increased to about 15 minutes and she's able to move it around, such as adding it to a small stick for a make-shift torch, or to one of her arrows just for a distraction-addition or something. It's still no bigger than the average orange, but at least now she can keep the orb while her hair's glowing, but this makes her rest time even longer, from 20 to 30 minutes total. As for being able to resist staring in sunlight or it's bright equivalent, she can now withstand 35 minutes.
~Level 9: Hair's glowing has increased to 45 minutes, now only faltering in brightness during the last 5 minutes, but she can still do the same with it as the previous level, not having to keep it glowing for so long, only in small bursts if she wants to. She can now make two orbs of light, both the same size of an average orange. She can break them up, but they have to be smaller than her "normal" size for the orbs. She can also move them around like the previous level, attaching them to things and the like. If she does this while her hair's glowing, or keeps up with the orbs of light, then she'll have to "recharge" for a good 40 minutes. This is also the same amount of time of how long she can withstand being able to look at sunlight or it's bright equivalent.
~Level 10: See Ref.

:bulletyellow:Poetic Phrases:
-Lvl 15 Hardy-Haikus: Reciting a Haiku aloud will create confusion, but in the case that a person will get distracted by the haiku itself that they won't pay nothing else but attention to what was said within it, trying to mull it over (useful for sneak attacks or running away). As for monsters, they would be generally confused. Radius of effect is 5 ft. Time limit is 15 minutes.

-Lvl 16: The Name-Game: By using Name-Poems, if she has a person in mind and the poem spells out their name, it can give off a calling sense for back-up; The person will get a nudge or prick in the back of their mind that she's calling for them to come. Radius of effect is 10 ft. Time limit is 25 minutes.

-Lvl 17: Rhyme with Me: Speaking in a or some Rhymes will make them catchy and they can cause someone else to start rhyming. Radius of effect is 20 ft. Time limit is 40 minutes.

-Lvl 18: There Once was a Man..: When using her Limericks, they cause healing or plague, emotionally. By this, if the Limerick is funny or at least very light in tone and story, then the effected person(s) will become happy and start to laugh. But if it's sad in any sort of way, then they will become sad and possibly enough to cry. Radius of effect is now 40 ft. Time limit is now 1 hour.

-Lvl 19: Sleepy-Sonnets: Reciting Sonnets can have the effect of making someone drowsy. Lulling them to a near sleep, when Rory reaches her max, this poem-effect will undoubtedly help the infected pass out. Radius of effect is 80 ft.</b> Time limit is 2 hours.
